Nicki Minaj has come under fire for allegedly dismissing staff members “after every show” as actress Ruby Rose labeled the rapper a “3 ft MAGA.”
The Orange Is The New Black star, 39, opened up about her time working alongside Minaj on Threads following the 43-year-old’s use of a homophobic slur during a tirade against former CNN host Don Lemon.
Minaj targeted Lemon over his reporting on an anti-ICE demonstration at a Minnesota church. A Threads user shared a screenshot of Minaj‘s X outburst and urged others to “stick a fork in her.” Rose replied by revealing claims about her professional experience with the hip-hop artist, reports the Mirror US.
Although Rose didn’t mention specific dates, the pair previously collaborated during the Pink Friday Reloaded Tour in November 2012. Writing on Threads, Rose claimed, “I toured with Nicki Minaj. Her ego is so outsized she HAD to fire someone after every show. Publicly, because she is 3 ft maga.
“On night one she fired the security for not seamlessly carrying her from the stage – because she went to jump off several bars early.”
She then hinted, “The 3rd night was best.”
Rose continued, “We were all going to get fired. Because it was her birthday, and well…Someone on her team had organized a bunch of her friends and celebrities to do a happy birthday montage video. So kind!”.
“Only problem was Of the dozen or so video messages that came in, not one had her age “right”. And now her real age had been leaked. I could go on, but I’m waiting for her next outburst.”
Supporters rallied behind Rose’s statement, with one fan declaring, “I love how real you are.”
Another playfully quipped, “This public meltdown must be x525,600 better for you! !”
“My goodness, @rubyrose, I have always been attracted to you… but, damn. You’re on fire!” a third admirer gushed, while someone else urged, “Keep going!”
Rose’s remarks follow the intense controversy surrounding Minaj’s explosive comments about Lemon, 59. She unleashed her fury on X, writing, “DON ‘C— SUCKIN’ LEMON IS DISGUSTING. HOW DARE YOU? I WANT THAT THUG IN JAIL! ! ! ! ! HE WOULD NEVER DO THAT TO ANY OTHER RELIGION. LOCK HIM UP! ! ! ! !”
Minaj accompanied her tirade with an image of a Chucky doll. In a subsequent post, she escalated her offensive rhetoric, stating on X, “LOL! ! ! And I purposely wrote it that way b/c I knew that would be the only way to get the c–k suckas to post about it.”
She proceeded to issue a stern warning to those criticizing her, declaring, “They would’ve all collectively ignored the despicable behavior displayed by Lemon head. I’m glad they’re angry. They’re about to get angrier.”
Lemon, who is openly gay and wed to his partner Tim Malone, issued a response to Minaj’s attack. He told TMZ, “I’m not surprised Nicki Minaj does not understand journalism and is weighing in on matters that are above her capacity. However, the more appropriate image for her post is a ‘Pick Me’ Doll.”
He also addressed Minaj’s inflammatory remarks in an Instagram video. In the footage, Lemon characterized the rapper’s social media outburst as “unhinged and homophobic.”
“I usually don’t respond to this stuff, but let me just say this: Nicki Minaj, stop talking about s–t you know nothing about,” Lemon said. “This is out of your depth, by the way, and you are a homophobic bigot.”
He wrapped up his statement by telling Minaj to “get a life” and declared, “Stop being a pick me.”
